Healthy Living is a Choice

HEALTHY DIET AND EXERCISE TO ATTAIN A HEALHTY WEIGHT

America has a serious obesity and inactivity problem. If you, like many of us, are struggling to attain or maintain a healthy weight and or improve your activity level, we can help you reach your goals. We offer the latest weight loss and exercise advice, medications, and program options to help you attain a healthy body mass index (BMI). Check your BMI: https://www.nhlbi.nih.gov/health/educational/lose_wt/risk.htm

To combat obesity and inactivity, we recommend that our patients follow a low caffeine, salt and simple carbohydrate diet that consists of eating mostly non-fried colored vegetables and lean meats. Cut way back on bread, rice, pasta, potato, corn, crackers and sugar (sweets) - which are mostly white in color - so an easy way to remember what foods to avoid is to remember the phrase, "if it's white don't bite."

It's just as important, if not more so, to get 15-30 minutes of aerobic exercise daily, such as taking a brisk walk, jog or run and or working out at a home or public gym. Our community now sports some excellent local gyms with trainer advice available to help you meet your health goals. You'll feel better and be healthier if you commit to making healthy lifestyle choices! Why not start today?

PREVENTATIVE MEDICINE

Americans often take better care of their cars and pets than they do themselves. We promote a wide variety of scientifically sound preventative and healthcare guidance, like breast, cervical, and colon cancer screening, abdominal aortic aneurysm and lung cancer screening for smokers, genetic testing for patient's at high risk for certain cancers, screening for osteoporosis for patients at risk, sexually transmitted illness screening, vaccines to prevent dangerous diseases and we provide the best of care for diseases like diabetes, hypertension and high cholesterol so they don't result in serious complications like heart disease, peripheral vascular disease, strokes and many other devastating long-term consequences of poor health maintenance.

ELIMINATING BAD HABITS

Most of us struggle with bad habits and or addiction(s) of one kind or another. Quitting smoking is a great way to improve your overall health. Excessive alcohol consumption and drug use can affect your mental and physical health and destroy relationships with those you love. If you need help kicking any habit, maybe we can help. Don't suffer in silence and shame.  With God's help, you can start anew.

MENTAL HEALTH

Are you suffering from anxiety, depression, bipolar disorder, PTSD, ADHD or some other emotional or psychological problem? We are here to listen to you and offer the help you need, whether that be educational materials, simple one-on-one advice, medication(s) and or referrals to excellent specialist counselor's and or psychologists.

SENIOR CARE

As Internal Medicine providers, we focus on the needs of our adult population, including our elderly folks with their wide range of medical challenges and needs. Let us partner with you for your health maintenance and medical needs.

PARTNERS WITH OUR COMMUNITY

We are committed to serving our community to the best of our abilities, utilizing  Evidence-based medicine (EBM). This means that we're open to providing tried and proven modern healthcare treatment options based on expert guidelines, but to proven effective herbal and natural medicine remedies as well.
